Hi! Hallo! ¡Hola!
I’m Matthew and I run MJP Translations.

As an expert translator and transcreator, I’ve made it my mission to help you make your mark in the worlds of education, international development, marketing, music, sport, telecommunications and travel/tourism, with a focus on the British market.

Who you’ll be working with

Anyone who knows me would tell you that I love languages, cultures and communication! I also have an MA in Interpreting and Translating and am a Qualified Member of the UK’s Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI). Throw into the mix long periods of time spent living in Germany and Spain, along with a wealth of experience gained as a translator since 2007, and I’m ideally equipped to translate or transcreate your German or Spanish content into top-notch British English.

Whether you need to educate, impress, inform, motivate, persuade or sell, I’ve got you covered.

Invest in real, human translations

Entrust your project to MJP Translations and you’ll be dealing with a human translator*.

As someone who lives, works, buys, socialises, exercises and enjoys family life in the UK, I’m immersed day-in, day-out in British culture and know exactly how to speak to your target market here in a language they’ll understand and respond to. Oh, and if maps and geography are your thing, I live in Bradford, a city in the north of England surrounded by rolling countryside.

I’ll work with you directly on your German or Spanish to English translation or transcreated English copy to get your message across to your British audience in an accurate, relevant and compelling way.

*That’s right, a person, not a machine or system. When not working in the world of words, this particular individual enjoys spending time with my wife and two children, reading, running, swimming and playing the piano.

What’s more…

While I use translation-memory technology to help ensure consistency in my work, your text will be handled by a human being (aka me!) who understands nuance, cultural references, irony, humour, subtlety, word-play – all those things that machine translation just can’t reproduce convincingly, however much it has advanced in recent years.

Don’t just take my word for it – check out what some of my existing clients say.

Want to know more? Then I’d love to hear from you!
